Artist statement
I’ve always been fascinated by computers, growing up in the 2000’s I experienced the renaissance of the internet and the introduction of the “digital space”. Over the years I watched as artists utilized these new spaces to create more interactive and fantastical worlds and stories. These artists really influenced my own practices in the digital space and I too started creating my own worlds and stories from my own experiences and really attempted to connect with others with similar experiences. As a tool of communication art is one of the best ways to connect people to others and empathize with those who are struggling in the real world. You can also create fantastical worlds of theoretical worlds, stuff like solar punk or futurism helps visualize and even live in the worlds of tomorrow. Illustration compared to my other works is a deeply personal endeavor that I often use to explore my own personal philosophies and explore/critique them. Exploration of individual identity, collective action, and the relationship between creator and creation are often important themes in my works. I aim to create worlds that are both diverse in their ideas and interesting to look at.
